Whitney Wolfe is primed to be one of the most influential women in the technology industry. Her recent application, Bumble, is revolutionizing the dating world with its innovative procedures and user-friendly interface. Wolfe set out to create a company that would offer a safe place for women to explore the dating world, Bumble is her answer to that need.
The thing that makes Bumble so popular is that it allows women to make the first move. On the heels of such an enormous success, Bumble continues to grow exponentially. Now that it has been on the market for some time, it has shown more than 70 % growth year after years since its initial release. This begs the question, what is next for this women-friendly app?
Recently, Wolfe has been working on launching two other divisions of Bumble. These are BumbleBizz and BumbleBFF. BumbleBizz is an app that is being launched and aimed specifically at professionals with an attempt to break into networking. Wolfe explains that BumbleBizz is poised to push back against ageism, with the omission of ages on their interface. BumbleBFF is a different, and very unique, perspective when it comes to apps geared towards meeting people. This app has been created specifically to foster friendships and connect people with shared interests in a platonic way.
Since Wolfe attended college at Southern Methodist University, she has been interested in helping the community. She received her degree in international studies in the hopes that she could positively impact the world. During college, she even started own business with Bamboo Totes to help BP oil spill victims. After graduation, she went to Southeast Asia where she worked with several orphanages. Given her history, it is no surprise that she would eventually found a company as socially conscious as Bumble.
Wolfe may be a titan in the dating app industry, but that hasn’t discouraged her from developing her own love life as well. Recently, she married her love, Michael Herb, in a beautiful ceremony. The wedding took place in Italy and even experienced a rather lengthy feature in vogue. While this recent member of the 30 under 30 lists seems to be motivated towards success, she is also there for her loved ones as well. It seems that Wolfe goes out of her way, every single day, to be there for all the people that need her the most, even her consumers.
