At Neurocore advances in neuroscience have allowed them to begin mapping the human brain and developing techniques that will allow individuals to gain better control over their brain. Neurotherapy is also called neurofeedback and it is a type of therapeutic protocol which utilizes an electroencephalogram to show an individual the electrical activity inside of their brain. Neurofeedback works because the brain has a strong ability to change and adapt to its environment. This referred to as Neuroplasticity. By training your brain almost in the same manner that you may train a dog you will be able to improve its overall function.

Attention deficit disorder has affected a number of individuals around the world and the scientific community is just now beginning to understand what it is and what causes the disorder. Traditionally the only way to treat the disorder was through the use of medications which had negative side effects for patients. While the medications were certainly useful for many individuals it is exciting to see that there is a new alternative for the treatment of ADHD.

There has been a general skepticism about how effective neurofeedback would be compared to the traditional medication treatment that has been used for the treatment of ADHD. Several recent studies have shown that the reduction in inattentive symptoms is actually higher in individuals who have been treated through neurofeedback rather than traditional medication. In these studies, several groups were developed. All of the individuals had ADHD and they were either treated with neurofeedback, medication, or both. The individuals who had received neurofeedback were the ones who had the greatest reduction in their inattentive symptoms.
